Standard Jeep Grand Cherokee 4xe Features
Many standard features of the 2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee 4xe are ones that only come with higher trim levels of other vehicles. The base-level Grand Cherokee 4xe is based on the Limited trim. The exterior of the entry-level Grand Cherokee 4xe features 18-inch alloy wheels, heated and power-adjustable heated side mirrors with turn signals integrated, LED lighting, and power remote trunk release. Stepping inside, you’ll enjoy standard equipment that includes a 10.1-inch Uconnect 5 infotainment touchscreen, built-in TomTom navigation, nine-speaker Alpine premium audio, a heated leather-wrapped steering wheel, leather-trimmed upholstery, heated front seats, a 10.25-inch fully-digital gauge cluster, and more. Jeep takes safety very seriously, which is why every Grand Cherokee 4xe comes with a wide range of standard safety features, including but not limited to blindspot monitoring, automatic emergency braking, rear park assist, adaptive cruise control with stop and go, active lane management, and forward collision mitigation.
What Features Come With the Higher Trim Levels?
While the Limited trim serves as a solid foundation for the 2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee 4xe lineup, it only gets better from there! The lineup continues to the 30th Anniversary Edition, which stands out with Electric Blue tow hooks and exclusive 30th Anniversary badges, celebrating the 30 years that the Grand Cherokee has dominated the SUV segment. The Trailhawk follows with exclusive features tailored to providing unrivaled off-road chops. These features include all-terrain tires, Quadra-Drive II 4×4 with a limited-slip rear differential, underbody skid plates, and an electronically disconnecting front sway bar. The Overland trim comes next, adding stylish 20-inch alloy wheels, heated/ventilated front seats, ambient interior LED lighting with five color settings, a dual-pane panoramic sunroof, and an auto-dimming rearview mirror. The Summit takes the Grand Cherokee 4xe to new levels of luxury, featuring massaging front seats, heated/cooled front seats, 16-way power-adjustable front seats, Quadra-Lift air suspension, a Gloss Black Roof, and four-zone automatic climate control. The Summit Reserve tops off the lineup with unprecedented luxury, including rich sound from nineteen speakers made exclusively for the trim level by McIntosh Labs, quilted Palermo leather upholstery, a panoramic sunroof, and exclusive 21-inch alloy wheels.
What Powers the 2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee 4xe?
Jeep’s first-ever plug-in hybrid electric vehicle (PHEV) powertrain, 4xe, is named for the conjunction of ‘four-by-four’ and ‘electric,’ thus, making the name four-by-e (or electric). The Grand Cherokee 4xe is powered by a combination of gas and electric power in the form of a turbocharged 2.0-liter inline four-cylinder engine, a transmission-mounted electric motor, an engine-mounted electric motor, and Quadra-Trac I 4×4. The hybrid power of the Grand Cherokee 4xe offers drivers an impressive 375 horsepower and 470 lb-ft of immediate torque. This is all while achieving an impressive 56 MPGe along with a 470-mile total driving range and a 25-mile all-electric driving range. Most Grand Cherokee 4xe models come standard with Quadra-Trac I 4×4, which sends 48% of torque to the front axle and 52% of torque to the rear to provide phenomenal all-weather traction. Available to the Grand Cherokee 4xe lineup is Quadra-Trac II 4×4. This differs from the standard 4×4 system by adding a two-speed transfer case. By replacing the single-speed transfer case, Quadra-Trac II gives drivers better control at low speeds by adding a low-range gear ratio in the transfer case. Lastly, Quadra-Drive II 4×4 is exclusive to the Trailhawk and Summit Reserve trims, adding top-notch traction with an electronic limited-slip rear differential that enables up to 100% of available engine torque to be sent to the single rear wheel with the most traction.
