Ram 1500 REV

Ram has stated that the all-electric 1500 REV will lead the class in towing capacity, range, payload, and charging time. Ram is targeting more than 10,000 pounds of towing capacity to top that of other all-electric trucks. Additionally, Ram has stated that the REV will use an 800-volt architecture to provide 350 kilowatts with a DC Fast Charger, affording it up to 100 miles of range in roughly ten minutes. Additionally, Ram is aiming for a 500-mile driving range, which will also beat the competition. The Ram 1500 REV is fully electric, void of an internal combustion engine. Both axles are driven by their own Electric Drive Module, giving the REV four-wheel drive as standard equipment. While the Ram 1500 REV EDMs are of normal size, their location of them was made larger to accommodate future high-performance applications. While official numbers have not yet been released, we can expect the REV to provide drivers with impressive power and capability. Furthermore, electric power is known to provide vehicles with instantaneous torque, which will add to the REV’s performance both on and off-road. Speaking of off-road, the Ram 1500 REV uses adjustable air suspension to provide greater off-road ground clearance and lower ground clearance for better highway aerodynamics. Additionally, Ram has stated it will offer four-wheel steering to provide unrivaled maneuverability on narrow trails in tight parking spaces.

The Ram 1500 REV is set to offer more available technology, luxury, and comfort than any Ram truck, past or present. On the center stack, the Ram 1500 REV will feature a larger vertical touchscreen, similar to the available touchscreen for the current gas-powered Ram 1500. The infotainment system will feature Smart Home Control, giving you the ability to control your home’s lights, thermostats, and more from the truck. It is also expected that currently optional technologies such as wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto and a wireless charging pad will become standard equipment for the REV.

The production model of Ram’s first-ever EV looks very similar to the current Ram 1500 model. However, more modern features were added to capture its advancement toward an electric future. First, the front end features an illuminated modernized ‘RAM’ emblem on the grille between ‘tuning fork’ styled LED lights. It takes many of the design features from the Ram 1500 Revolution BEV Concept while bringing them together with some design notes featured by the current Ram 1500 models. The body of the Ram 1500 REV comes standard in a crew cab with a five-foot-seven-inch bed. The sides are sleek with elegant curves and defined edges for a more modern look while still noting the brand’s traditional style. With the absence of a gas-powered engine under the hood, the REV features a trunk in place of the engine, knowns as a frunk, for ‘front trunk.’ The REV’s frunk will allow for greater cargo storage space, even when the bed is full. The REV will also offer a larger RamBox external cargo storage box over the rear fender for additional storage. It will also offer a multi-function tailgate with a 60/40 split to swing open while still being able to fold down like a traditional tailgate. Easy access to all the truck’s storage and occupant spaces is provided by a powered frunk lid, tailgate, and side steps.
